Cariboo Rocks the Chamber of Commerce

The Cariboo Rocks the North Music Festival has received the Prince George Chamber of Commerce award for mounting the city’s “Top Marketing Campaign.”

The award was sponsored by Fortis and presented by Fortis Operations Manager Carrie Grant, pictured above with Cariboo Rocks event managers Glen Mikkelsen of the CN Centre (left) and Pacific Western Brewing’s Kyle Sampson.

Cariboo Rocks the North earned the honour for being a “multi-organizational marketing team that developed an innovative and effective marketing, PR, and advertising campaign … that demonstrated creativity, increased customer engagement and produced positive results.”

PWB’s Kyle Sampson says: “We really want to recognize the small army behind Cariboo Rocks the North. Our team is made up of industry professionals who are dedicated to putting on the best event we can. We also want to thank PWB’s partner in the event, Glen Mikkelsen. I am always thankful for the opportunity to work with this industry pro.

“Together we collaborated, strategized, and developed a marketing campaign that we are both proud of and one that we think continues to drive growth! The success of the event is due to our entire team, and I can’t stress that enough. That includes our partners at GSL Group, Dave Dakers and his team. So, to our event management team, staff, contractors, sponsors, and our patrons – thank you!”

Last summer’s rock concert drew more than 8,000 fans. It was so successful that almost immediately there was an announcement that Northern BC’s biggest summer party at Exhibition Park will be back for a third year in 2020.
